A Cold Rain in Tokyo

This photograph was taken on a rainy day in March. Normally, the area in front of the station is crowded with people. However, on days with heavy rain, the streets empty out, leaving behind only the cold cityscape and the hurried footsteps of those heading home. I wanted to capture the feeling of the cold rain falling on my shoulders, the brilliant lights of a metropolis like Tokyo, and the silhouette of a single person set against that backdrop. This work records the quiet stillness left behind the city’s brilliance and a fleeting moment of an individual passing through it.
